Financial Systems Product Manager

Fundrise is the first investment platform to create a simple, low-cost way for anyone to unlock consistent and historically exceptional returns of private equity real estate. Our technology and world-class real estate private equity management provides mass-market access to a level of investment performance that only the wealthiest investors have enjoyed.

We’re proud to be a Washington Post 2019 Top Workplace and a member of the 2019 Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing privately held companies in the US. We strive to hire creative, collaborative, and results-driven people with a penchant for bold ideas, a bias towards action and an obsession with solving problems.

We’re seeking a talented, passionate, results-driven product manager for our financial systems that originate a half billion dollars of new investment per year and administer private equity real estate funds that we launched in December of 2015 and ended 2019 with $1 billion of assets under management.

Our internally-developed financial systems are one of the key differentiators for our business as we have built solutions for audit, cash and equity reconciliation, pricing, asset management, tax, investor reporting as well as dividend issuance and implementation of our redemption programs. In-short, this software is the infrastructure for our investment platform and its constant evolution, scaling and refinement is key to the execution of the company as a whole.

We’re looking for someone who can learn and master the details of how we operate our investment platform and then drive software and process improvements that allow our company to achieve our annual growth goals.

Ideally, you are:

  • Organized. You keep meticulous notes and are able to manage multiple projects in different phases of work at the same time. Context-switching does not bother you.
  • Pragmatic. You think critically about the task at hand and are constantly discussing and evaluating the trade-offs in different approaches — recognizing there are always different ways to solve a problem.
  • Curious. You are naturally curious about things you don't understand and actively look for opportunities to grow and learn from those around you.
  • Vocal. You actively participate in product review meetings and are willing to advocate for what you believe in. You provide thoughtful, constructive review of others work, knowing that everyone is working towards the same objective.
  • Collaborative. You are comfortable talking to and working with different people and teams. You can speak intelligently about a wide variety of topics but know when to say “I don’t know.”
  • Paranoid (a little). You are constantly trying to poke holes in your own thinking and understand what the second, third, and nth order effects might be.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or related field; or equivalent work experience consisting of 3+ years implementing software-driven business processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • History of teamwork and willingness to dive-in to get the job done
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity — jumping into work with little definition

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a high growth environment
  • History of successfully developing and launching internal tools
  • A background in finance and/or accounting is a plus
