Associate - Real Estate (Acquisitions and Asset Management)

Fundrise has an immediate opening in our DC office for a full-time Associate in Real Estate. Candidates for this position must have at least two years of experience working in real estate.

A successful candidate will have exceptional communication skills and a strong work ethic. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who thrive in a dynamic, team-based environment with the initiative to work independently. Positive, team-oriented attitude required. Responsibilities

  • Source and originate deals ranging from commercial to residential

  • Underwrite transactions: developing project pro-formas, assessing market/submarket trends, comps, etc., and evaluating sponsor track record and reputation

  • Assist with due diligence and closing processes

  • Draft Investment Committee memos

  • Work with Fundrise team to develop systematic methods for originating and underwriting real estate projects

  • Work with Fundrise team and investment partners to asset manage the investments subsequent to closing as needed [review regular reporting, maintain pro-formas, conduct hold-sale analysis, calculate quarterly NAVs, assist with preparation of annual business plans, assist with loan pay-offs (debt investments) and dispositions (equity investments)] 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 2+ years of experience working in commercial real estate

  • Strong understanding of real estate investment principles, a working understanding of real estate pro-formas and valuation methods, and strong Excel modeling skills.  Knowledge of Argus is a plus

  • Superior written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and sales skills

  • Outstanding organizational skills; ability to leverage and improve systems to manage a high volume of transactions

  • Must be self-directed, able to work independently, as well as work in a team-oriented and fast paced environment

  • Intellectually curious, creative, and collaborative
